Upgrading Safety at Your Indoor Pool is Easy With This Step

If you are the owner/operator of an indoor commercial pool, safety should be a top priority. How often do you pay attention to preventive measures like safety padding in dangerous areas? Padding may not be on the to-do list until you've already had an accident - but planning ahead can prevent injury and protect guests. With diving boards, play features, dive stands and more at many indoor facilities, it's just as vital to ensure that your fall-zones are protected as outdoor centers.

Many indoor facilities have dive platforms or diving boards – especially those that center around competition. That makes ensuring your guests and athletes are protected is important, especially with the popular 10 meter stands. Dive stand pads are ideal for fall-zone protection under both diving boards and dive stands. Even better is that you can order many of these pads to custom fit your fall-zones, creating the exact level of protection you need. We designed our entire line of SoftSide™ safety padding with the aquatic environment in mind. Each pad is crafted from protective safety foam wrapped in a thick layer of waterproof PVC. The exterior is pore-free for easy maintenance and also resists common organic growth and fading. Our pads are available in ready-to-order sizes as well, and all padding is available 1”-4” depending on your needs.

With the growing focus on the lasting damage caused by head trauma in many different sports, we were impressed with the test data generated when our padding was tested. A SoftSide pad reduced serious head fall-trauma by 98% and eliminated fatal head fall-trauma by 100%. That's the level of protection that you should provide to your guests and athletes who use your indoor aquatic center. Another important use for safety padding is around play features which are becoming increasingly popular at indoor facilities. The unusual shapes and sizes of these make traditional one-size-fits-all padding less than ideal; custom padding is literally the perfect fit for these unique play features.

We've come across some inventive but less-than-protective padding over the years; this isn't a job where something is better than nothing. You need the right pad to do the job and ensure that your guests are protected in case of a fall. With water and hard surfaces you'll have the potential for injury, and padding that belongs under a swing-set doesn't belong under a dive stand. You should choose padding designed for the pool, by aquatic professionals to ensure that you receive the best possible protection for your aquatic center.
